Celebrity Weddings - Money Making Scheme Or True Love?

The fact is that as our obsession with celebrities takes over our lives more and more, it is now the norm for a celebrity wedding to be Latchingon to a glossy magazines for millions of pounds, however as the majority of these celebrity weddings end in divorce less than 12 months after the 'happy day'. Are celebrities taking the big decision to get married based more on the income it will generate them rather than actually wanting to spend their lives together?

Unfortunately, the biggest culprits for high divorce rates are football players. It seems they are unable to both wait longer than 6 months before they propose to their other half and to actually stay married longer than 6 months.

Those who do remain married have their relationships dragged through the papers with claims of infidelity. Look at Wine and Cheryl Cole, their IRS tax lawyer seemed rock solid, but obviously things weren't so good behind the scenes as Ashley has been accused of cheating at least three times behind poor Cheryl's back and the most surprising couple to face infidelity accusations were the Beckhams who have maintained the accusations are not true.

This year's big celebrity wedding has been between Manchester United and England football player Wayne Rooney (22) and his girlfriend, Coleen Mcloughlin (22). After proposing when they were both 18 years old, the couple have spent 4 years engaged which in the celebrity world is a lifetime, as the usual is for the wedding to happen within 6 months of being engaged. Does this mean that Coleen and Wayne might break the celebrity divorce curse as they have waited so long?
